10 Days left as a civilian. I’m better off than most people, but still it’s a bit scary.
Shiv has linked me to the awesomeness of Christopher Titus. You may remember him from his show that aired a while back. I never really liked his show, but his act is brilliant. He’s a blend of Jim Carrey and George Carlin. He’s dark, energetic and very refreshing. I especially like his use of props and stage sets. He isn’t tacky or slapstick like the dude who smashes pumpkins with a sledgehammer. It kinda reminds me of watching a play - He uses chairs, doors and even lighting much more than the average comic. This is great. Most comics just take their act – built for a tiny club stage – and do the same thing everywhere – which, to me, is a waste Of course, there are also some, like Dane Cook, who go completely over the top with stuff like circular stages. Titus stays in on a level that intrigues the dramatist in me, while not appearing to over-the-top.
Other cool things include Death at a Funeral and Juno, two movies which I will watch before this weekend.
